Talk Like A Pirate Day

Today we celebrated International Talk Like a Pirate Day.  Aft readin' a short tale about how t' natter like a pirate, th' students were able t' find thar pirate name.  They had t' pick three numbers from 1-10. (Lads be usin' 1-5 'n lasses 6-10.)  Then they use th' numbers t' find thar pirate name.  (See chart below)

After that, we wrote stories and used a pirate translator to change the stories to read in pirate.

First word:       Big                Long Blue Jolly Red Cold Green One Black Stump

Second word: Eye Boot Belly Bottom Leg Ear Mouth Tooth Lip Foot

Third word: Bob Willy Bart Bill Kid Ann Bonny Bess Gert Sue
